Terms of service

The agreement for using CareerVersion: the plans, your account and content, what a model draft is, what the market data is not, and the limits that protect both sides.

Effective 7 September 2026 · CareerVersion is operated by its founder in Tennessee, United States. An entity name will replace this line when one is formed.

1. Agreement

These terms are the agreement between you and CareerVersion for careerversion.com, app.careerversion.com and careerversion.bio. By signing in or using the product you agree to them and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the product.

2. The product and the plans

My Career, the record and the public bio, is free. Growth and Job Search are paid plans as priced on the pricing page. Both paid plans start with a seven-day trial with a card on file; nothing is charged until the trial ends, and cancelling before then means it never is. Payments are processed by Stripe under its own terms. Plans renew until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Settings; the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refunded for partial periods. Prices may change with notice; a change applies from your next renewal.

3. Your account

An account is for one person. You must be 18 or older and give a working email address, because the sign-in link goes there. You are responsible for what happens under your sign-in and for keeping your email account secure.

4. Your content

What you enter is yours. You give CareerVersion a licence to store and process it in order to run the product, and, only for what you set public, to display it on your bio. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you publish and for having the right to publish it, including the words of others you quote as recommendations. You can export or delete your content at any time.

5. Acceptable use

  • Do not impersonate anyone or claim credentials or work that are not yours.
  • Do not scrape, crawl or bulk-collect other people's bios or the product's data.
  • Do not attempt to read, alter or disrupt another account or the service.
  • Do not publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing or that exposes another person's private information.

We may suspend or remove content or accounts that break these rules.

6. Drafts written by a model

When you ask, a model drafts text from your own record: a takeaway for a role, or a résumé tailored to one posting. A draft is a suggestion. It may be wrong or incomplete, and it is not saved or published until you approve it. You are responsible for what you choose to keep.

7. Market data and job listings

Opportunities, posted salary bands, company information and similar figures come from third-party sources as posted and change without notice. They are provided as information, not advice, and are not a promise of any job, interview, salary or outcome. CareerVersion does not provide career, legal, tax or financial advice.

8. No warranty

The product is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, CareerVersion is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, arising from the product or these terms. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and one hundred US dollars.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify CareerVersion against claims arising from content you publish or from your breach of these terms.

11. Ending the agreement

You can stop using the product and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms or where the law requires. When an account is deleted, its content is deleted as described in the privacy policy.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do, and for material changes the product tells you when you next sign in. Continued use after a change is agreement to it.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are brought in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
